Born in 1996 in Changhua, Taiwan, CHANG, Chia-Hsiang graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at National Changhua University of Education. His recent works focus on video and installation, drawing inspiration from everyday scenes. He considers the image as an unstable and mutable state of existence. By deconstructing scenes and objects through moving images, he seeks to release the image from its flat, two-dimensional surface, allowing it to merge into spatial fissures and on-site disturbances, thereby generating ruptures and dislocations in the act of viewing. Through the assemblage of temporary objects and spatial arrangements, he constructs environments marked by a sense of temporariness, inviting a renewed gaze toward the interplay among shadow, image, and object.
Previous artworks used to receive the selected work Award from National Art Exhibition R.O.C. (2023), the selected work Award from Taiwan Annual Jury Prize(2023), and S-An Aesthetics Award – Arts Creation Support(2022).
